Australia's best chefs compete to raise the most for charity OzHarvest in their annual CEO Cookoff.
This year OzHarvest CEO Ronni Kahn set an ambitious target of $1.5 million. But with 50 of Australia's top chefs and 150 CEO's battling it out the pressure was definitely on to smash this target. And smash it they did! The chef's and CEO's have raised a total of $1,667,409 so with more coming in.
In real terms this means OzHarvest has the funds to serve a staggering 3,334,818 meals to those in need.
A last minute $25,000 donation to Celebrity Chef and Qantas Airlines consultant Neil Perry has knocked fierce rival Matt Moran off the top spot and has Perry laughing all the way to the food bank. Notable mentions must also go to Guillaume Brahimi, Orazio D'elia of Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta and Jacqui Challinor of Nomad & Luke Mangan of Glass Brasserie & Mojo for their exceptional fundraising abilities.

"I think the beautiful thing about Ozharvest is that, that there’s an awesome energy around us but that energy is created because our people believe us. Our people understand that our purpose is to nourish this country and we do that in four ways: we rescue food, we educate, we engage and we innovate" Khan said.
"I am just the luckiest person alive I have purpose in my life"
Before closing out the official portion of the evening Khan gave a heart felt speech thanking those involved. "Thank you Chefs, thank you to all of you. I am just the luckiest person alive I have purpose in my life. I have magnificent people around me. I have a board that supports every single thing that OzHarvest does. And I am so proud to be the leader and the CEO of OzHarvest. Thank you"
